Description
The Reynolds Building is a 314-foot tall Art Deco skyscraper in downtown Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It has 313,996 square feet of space within its 21 floors. It was completed in 1929 on the site of the City of Winston's (prior to combining to form Winston-Salem) first City Hall which had been built there in 1892. The building construction cost the then hefty sum of $2.7 million. At the time it was the tallest building between Baltimore, Maryland, Birmingham, Alabama, and the Miami-Dade County Courthouse. For much of its history it served as the headquarters for R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. The building is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
