Artist's Description
Here you see the famous Mile High Swinging Bridge that spans between two peaks atop North Carolina's Grandfather Mountain. It gets its name from being one mile above sea level and from being a swinging foot bridge. Many daring visitors to this state park love to walk across the bridge and climb onto the rock cliffs on the other side where they get breathtaking views of forests, lakes, and other amazing scenery. On a perfectly clear day (which this clearly was not) you can actually see the Charlotte, NC skyline 90 miles away from the rock formation on top of Grandfather Mountain.
About Lee Darnell
Lee is a native of and current resident of North Carolina. He's spent his life there caring for and serving others. For well over 30 years he has worked as a law enforcement officer and paramedic, including time as an administrator, educator, and government regulator. He has responded to multiple national disasters and served celebrities, Governors, and Presidents along the way. He is a SAG-AFTRA eligible working film/television actor with dozens of credits in films, shows, commercials, industrials, and theater. He says that it is hard work, but using his imagination to become someone else, lost in a different moment in time is an experience of which he simply can't get enough, very similar to his photography work.
