Artist's Description
Strip away the stunning red color and green accents from this flower then get good and close for a photo. Only then can you cut to the true beauty that lies underneath. The flower is kind of like people, the facade that you see paints an immediate perception for you but when you dig a bit deeper and get the truth. This flower is not the perfection it once appeared to be (what person is?). But, even stripped bare, the textures, form, and simplistic beauty of the flower is unmistakable. It is imperfectly perfect.
About Lee Darnell
Lee is a native of and current resident of North Carolina. He's spent his life there caring for and serving others. For well over 30 years he has worked as a law enforcement officer and paramedic, including time as an administrator, educator, and government regulator. He has responded to multiple national disasters and served celebrities, Governors, and Presidents along the way. He is a SAG-AFTRA eligible working film/television actor with dozens of credits in films, shows, commercials, industrials, and theater. He says that it is hard work, but using his imagination to become someone else, lost in a different moment in time is an experience of which he simply can't get enough, very similar to his photography work.
